This is a lovely Antique Solid Silver Victorian Teapot. It is of a compressed circular shape and is heavily embossed with flowers, leaves and scrolls. It has a dark brown wooden handle and finial and it has a raised rim forming the base. It has one large cartouche on each side and each have a very faded armorial engraved which I can best describe as a bird on a column with another large bird head which looks like an eagle behind it.
Assay Office: LONDON
Date: 1866
Makers Marks: W.W.W (William Wrangham Williams). The base is also stamped "Lambert Coventry St London"
Dimensions: It is 10 inches wide from spout to handle, 6 inches in diameter and 4.5 inches tall. It weighs 426g
Condition: Overall it is in very good condition but it does have one little dent in one of the cartouches and a little dent in the plain bottom part of the body and a couple of little elongated very shallow dings to the plain shoulder, but having said all of the above they sound far worse than they actually are and really are quite minor
Remarks: A lovely antique Victorian 143 year old solid silver teapot. A lovely useable teapot and when not being used makes a lovely display item, or a very good addition to any collection
