This is a lovely Antique Solid Silver Georgian Teapot. It is oval in shape and is highly decorated with an embossed pattern of flowers, leaves and scrolls which covers all of the body, the lid and part way down each side of the straight tapering spout. The embossing is on top of a textured orange peel background. It has a shaped cartouche to one side which is still blank. It's hinged lid is slightly domed in the middle with a wooden finial and also a wooden handle. It is made from a good guage of silver and has clear hallmarks apart from the first letter of the makers mark which is rubbed, but if you look very closely you can just about make it out.

Dimensions: 10.5 inches wide from handle to spout. The actual body is 6 inches long, 3.75 inches wide at its widest point and 6 inches tall to the top of the handle. It weighs 425g
Condition: It is in very good condition, but if I had to be extrememly critical there is a little play in the lid, but this is very very minor and also the wooden handle is of a slightly lighter colour than the finial, where it has faded. Also again being very critical there is a little grain split in the wooden finial, but all of the above is very very minor and it is in superb condition for its age
Remarks: This really is a very pretty and decorative antique Georgian solid silver 219 year old teapot. When not in use it would make an impressive display item and will also be of particular interest to collectors of good antique Georgian Silver
